Styled after the speakeasies and jazz joints of 1920s and '30s Harlem, Bill Saxton serves up real jazz and tells the story of the history of the original "Swing Street". Billie Holiday, Willie "The Lion" Smith, and Mae West, Langston Hughes, and "Moms" Mabley, who all strolled, sang, and played their ways down W133rd, and yes - even #148, are all characters in this amazing chapter in Harlem history.
Mr. Saxton is so proud to be one of those characters, doing his part to perpetuate the culture and spirit of the original "Swing Street" with Bill’s Place.
New for 2011: Bill performs two shows every Friday night. The first show starts at 9 PM and the second at 11PM.
Admission is $20 per person. And don’t forget - BYOB!
